Why the 42 @ 42 in 42

You will find the Why Running story on my original blog Wise Enough to be Foolish where I share my bantering on random things…

I took up running sometime in 2010 and since then I have run so many half marathons that I have lost count of them… sometime in 2012 I took off to Everest Base Camp (it was my 40th birthday gift to myself) and I didn't just return with the experiences - I also came back with uninvited return gifts of hip injuries that has frequently come in the way of my running!

2013 was something else too - with a packed life that included a book release, setting up of The Active Holiday Company while I was still holding my day job and going back to college - the one thing that took the back seat was running. If I was to evaluate 2013 from just the perspective of running - I would say I did pretty bad - but life is about balance and considering how much I achieved otherwise fact is that 2013 was GREAT!

And now I am back.. to kick ASSphalt and chase some running goals!

On 4th Jan, 2014 I turn 42 and it seems like a good year to chase the Full Marathon distance. It's going to be a fun ride - I haven't run in months, I have gained 7 kilos, my hip bursitis still hurts and I see signs of Achilles, my fitness level is rock-bottom and I am loving the challenge!

This blog is meant to simply inspire every 40+, overweight and zero fitness level individual that we can do it (and how to do it!) - quit reading now and get out there folks!!

Ohh and this is not a plug but since so many keep asking me about what I do 'otherwise' drop into www.activeholidaycompany.com to figure out how else I keep myself occupied..
