The Support Team

Nothing is ever achieved alone!! Here's the sort of support team you will need if you want to chase similar goals..

Uday Jayaram, Husband: If you are not married its another story but if you are, you need a partner who will not throw a fit when he has to pack off the kids to school because you are out there running when the school bus arrives!

Aprajita and Gayatri, Children: In a country where children's lives revolve around the mummies, here are two girls who love to tell their friends - my mom runs marathons - so what if she's awfully slow..

Pacemakers, Training Group: Belonging to a running group keeps you going, adds to the fun and most importantly - doesn't allow you to give up!

Kothandapani, Coach: He figures out your running plan based on your abilities, strengths and limitations and fixes some great long run locations..

Brijesh Gajera, Initiator: Sometimes you chat with friends and share your ambitions and goals and then they come up with a 42 @ 42 in 42 plan - if you don't have anyone to do this - you may as well not start.

Venkatraman Pichumani, Agony Aunt: When you feel your goals are too far and you are not able to do as much as you could or should be, some people give you a different perspective that changes your thinking.

Gladson, Physio: He's the guy who will fix you every time the aches and pains return.. a marathoner himself - will never prescribe bed-rest!!

Trainer - Looking for one!

Nutritionist - coming soon!

  1. All the best gauri. I wish you the best of luck. Just a few days away from running 42 at45, i can only say that the journey has been worth it for me, training through 2013,and the one thing that i have learnt in this period is "stoic resolve". The art of plodding on at 29 k, with 3 k to go, just focussing on putting one foot in front of another and running lampost-to-lampost. Enjoy the journey..
